About Our Company

Dan Deweese Painting and Wood Finishing was founded in November 2014 by Daniel Deweese. However, the Deweese name has been in the painting business since 1978. Dan’s father founded R.L. Deweese Painting and Decorating in 1978. Dan is the youngest of seven children and began working for the family business in high school along with his older brothers. After high school, he continued working in the craft for several years. He followed in his father’s footsteps which led him to start Dan Deweese Painting and Wood Finishing.

Dan started the company with himself and a few friends. Dan was eventually joined by his siblings one by one. Five of the seven, along with their father, Rich, currently work together at Dan Deweese Painting and Wood Finishing.

Dan has tried to create a work environment that fosters a family environment and a great place to work. All of our employees are highly skilled and professional. Most of the employees have well over 20 years painting experience. DDPWF requires their employees leave your home or business better than when they arrived.

Meet the Team

Dan Deweese

Owner

Dan is not only the owner and operator of the business but on most days, you will find him in the spray shop. He personally does every stain match. What is a stain match? If you have a door, you want stained a new color, bring in a sample & he can match it. If you have trim in your house & are doing a remodel adding new trim, he can match it. The list goes on & on! He especially loves transforming antiques into their original beauty or a completely different look.

David Deweese

Brother

David is the estimator and project manager. He meets with the customers and contractors to give them quotes for their work. He has over 30 years of painting experience. He is able to answer just about any painting question or issue. He personally oversees most of our jobs.

Amy (Deweese) Peterson

Sister

Amy is the office manager who handles most of the behind-the-scenes operations. She schedules estimates and communicates with the customer throughout the entire process from start to finish. She also handles payroll, human relations and social media.

Rich Deweese

Father

Rich refuses to retire so we keep him working to make him feel young! He actively paints at customer’s homes. He still climbs ladders and uses a power washer. We will be nice and won’t tell you his age, but you can do the math! He has “almost” 50 years of painting experience and started painting when he was 30.

John Deweese

Brother

John has been painting for over 35 years! He is gifted with specialty painting projects. He started hanging wallpaper when it was popular in the 1990’s! He also learned the popular faux finishes in the 1990’s as well. Fast forward to now, he has years of training in both areas. He is able to recreate wood-like faux finishes on fiberglass doors, apply Venetian plaster finishes and hang contemporary wallpaper.

Stephen Deweese

Brother

Stephen has also been painting for about 30 plus years. Stephen is great with most types of painting but excels at painting kitchen cabinets. He has the patience for the meticulous set-up, prep, priming, painting and putting it all back together. He loves the customers and especially their pets.
